MAFA launches ‘Balance’, the latest product to improve olive production.

BALANCE es un nuevo biosestimulante para el olivar

Farmers in the olive-growing sector are well aware of how the olive harvest works. They know it largely depends on three strategic stages in the tree: vegetative growth, flowering, and fruit development. In these stages, phytohormones play a crucial role. To meet this need, MAFA Bioscience launches a new product, BALANCE, a hormonal complex based on auxins and cytokinins, enriched with amino acids and vitamins, that improves crop performance. The results from the research conducted at MAFA bioScience

  • BALANCE from MAFA BioScience achieves an average increase in production of 11 kilograms per olive tree [See Chart 1].
  • The olive grove shows a more intense green, which is a sign of greater photosynthetic activity and, therefore, an increase in the size and number of buds developed [See image 1].
  • The olive tree shows more floral development and a high percentage of fruit set and fruiting [See image 2].
  • The oil yield is five points higher than that of an untreated olive tree with BALANCE [See chart 2].

The study on the effectiveness of BALANCE was conducted last year, throughout the entire growing season, at an experimental farm in Cabra de Santo Cristo (Jaén). There, the Picual olive is the predominant variety. The Picual is one of the most widespread varieties in the eastern region of Andalusia, known and appreciated for its early production. The trial was carried out on 3,200 plants, randomly distributed across 6 test blocks, each with 3 different trials and their respective controls. Simultaneously, the optimal number of applications was studied.

The study conducted by MAFA BioScience confirms that, by making 3 applications of BALANCE during the growing season at a dosage of 0.02%, we achieve a noticeable increase in the vigor, growth, and development of the olive tree [See image 3].

The previous images show the positive impact of BALANCE on vegetative growth, flowering, and fruit development in the treated olive trees. The results are clear: higher production, better quality, and superior performance compared to the untreated olive trees.
