The importance of Green Certifications and Zero Residue products is becoming more and more relevant and interesting for both the final consumer and the intermediary companies.

Specifically in Europe, organic agriculture is a sector that is growing rapidly. During the last decade, the area of the EU devoted to organic production has increased at an average rate of 500,000 hectares per year. There are now more than 186,000 organic farms throughout the EU.

The consumption of organic products has experienced a significant increase in recent years, given the growing awareness of consumers, who demand the highest quality products obtained under production systems that respect the environment.

Organic production is a set of agricultural techniques that exclude the use, in agriculture and livestock, of certain synthetic chemical products in order to preserve the environment, maintain or increase soil fertility and provide food with all its natural properties. In addition to favoring rural and environmental development, healthy food is offered to the end consumer.

In organic production, only fertilizers, soil conditioners and nutrients included in the regulations established at the European level can be used, and the exclusion of certain active substances is analyzed by the certifying bodies before granting the corresponding certification seals.

The producer is very confused when using fertilizers or phytosanitary products, as to what can and cannot be used.. The CAAE and SHC Input Certification marks are key for manufacturers to be able to choose among the inputs available in the market.

To ensure consumer confidence, companies like MAFA Vegetal Ecobiology, works to meet these quality standards, proof of this are the various accreditations of organic certification at European level that it holds, such as:

SHC → SOCIEDAD HISPANA DE CERTIFICACIÓN S.A.

CAAE → INSUMOS PARA LA PRODUCCIÓN ECOLÓGICA
(EUROPEAN RULE – REG (CE) 834/2007)

Both certification seals are based on different European regulations which establish the requirements to be met for agricultural production based on the respect of natural cycles, maintenance of biodiversity, obtaining agricultural products without the use of synthetic chemical products.
