This time we analyze the high effectiveness of Trichospore, one of our additions to the new line of probiotics . Trichospore is a liquid formulation composed of the microorganism Trichoderma harzianum EEZ-4, a fungus that is extremely beneficial for plants and which in this case we apply to the cultivation of the winter variety arugula.
By applying it twice throughout the crop cycle, we have set ourselves the goal of:
- Promote root development by increasing the biomass of the plant’s roots.
- Promote the absorption of nutrients, specifically phosphorus and nitrogen.
- And, ultimately, increase the productivity of a stronger and more uniform crop.
The experiment in detail
In thistest we wanted to check its effects on a plot with 40 arugula plants (Eruca vesicari) located in Xilxes (Castellón). The test, certified by the company Neval (accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture), was carried out between April and May 2024 and compared the effectiveness of the product between two areas, one with the application of Trichospore and one without it.
Two applications were made. The first was done 7 days after transplanting and the second 20 days after the first application, both using localized irrigation twice a week with 2L/hour drippers for 20 minutes.
During the same period, the control plot was irrigated without applying any product. In both cases, no phytosanitary treatment or fertilizer was applied.
The evaluation was carried out based on three consecutive harvests, specifically 18, 26, and 33 days after transplanting.
WE HAVE FOLLOWED THE FOLLOWING RESULTS
Higher harvest yield
With the application of Trichospore we observed a statistically significant increase in the yield (kg/ha) with a confidence level of 95%, compared to the untreated control. The plots treated with this MAFA probiotic show an average yield of 7,674.45 kg/ha while the control plots show 6,915.56 kg/ha.

Plants with higher weight
Another significant finding from this trial is the heavier yields. Specifically, 570 grams more were obtained per 100 arugula plants in the plots treated with Trichospore.
