The farmers of olive growing sector know well the olive harvest. They know that it depends largely on three strategic stages in the tree: the vegetative growth, flowering and fruit development. In these stages, the phytohormones have a crucial role. To respond to this need, MAFA Bioscience launches a new product, Balance, which is a hormonal complex based on auxins and cytokinins –and enriched in amino acids and vitamins– which improves the yield of the crop. The results of the research realized in MAFA Bioscience complex shows:
- BALANCE of MAFA Bioscience has an average increase of production about 11 Kg per olive tree. (See graphic 1).
- The olive grove shows a stronger green, which is a synonym for a higher photosynthetic activity, therefore, an increase in the size and the number of buds is developed. (See picture 1)
- The olive tree shows more floral development and a higher percentage of fruit setting also fructification. (See picture 2)
- The fat yield is five points superior to an untreated olive tree with BALANCE. (See graphic 2)

The study about the efficacy of Balance was done last year, during the whole crop cycle, in an experimental farm in Cabra de Santo Cristo (Jaen). On the experiment field, the picual olive was the main variety. The picual olive is one of the most extended in the eastern area of Andalusia, known and appreciated for his premature beginning in the production. The test was carried out with 3.200 plants randomly distributed in 6 test blocks and each one with 3 different tests. At the same time, the ideal number of applications was studied.
The study from MAFA Bioscience confirms that, with 3 applications of BALANCE during the crop cycle with a dose of 0,02%, it is possible to obtain an obvious increase in olive tree vigor, growth and development. (See picture 3).
